About Maison Sage
We started Maison Sage because most home goods felt disposable. We wanted objects with weight, intention, and a story you could see in the glaze.
In 2020, Claire Moreau left a production ceramics studio to start something smaller. Her premise was simple: every object should be worth repairing. She began throwing vessels in a rented kiln space in Lyon, developing glaze recipes from local ash and iron oxide. The collection sold out in three days.
Today Maison Sage is a team of three — a ceramicist, a textile specialist, and a woodworker — producing in small batches from a shared studio. We ship worldwide, but we still pack every order by hand. The things you surround yourself with should feel chosen, not convenient.
Trained at the École Nationale Supérieure des Arts. Claire develops every glaze recipe and throws the signature vessel line. Her philosophy: if it isn't beautiful when it breaks, it was never beautiful to begin with.
Jonas coordinates our linen program with three heritage mills in Belgium and Lithuania. He tests every weight and weave himself, and is notoriously difficult to satisfy on hand-feel.
Twelve years in bespoke furniture before joining Maison Sage. Tomás handles all carved wood objects and brings cabinet-maker precision to every board and tray.
Nadia ensures every order leaves the studio packed correctly, on time, and feeling like a gift. She also curates the seasonal collection drops and manages wholesale enquiries.
We fire in batches of 20–40 pieces. This means longer wait times, but it means every piece leaves the kiln with attention it deserves.
No synthetic fibres, no petroleum-based glazes. Every material is traceable to its source, and we publish those sources on request.
We offer a kintsugi repair service for broken ceramics. An object with a crack repaired in gold is more honest than one that was never tested.
